My husband and I spent the weekend with my parents setting up a town house retreat for them. It lent itself to great conversation. When I asked my folks about some quotes from my grandparents this one popped out immediately from both of their mouths.
This piece of advice is just as timely now as it was then.
I love your quotes. They remind me that good sense never goes out of style.
ReplyDeleteMy Hubby has a saying which relates to this quote: You pay peanuts, you get monkeys--Mr.P

This is exactly what my grand-parents would say. In French, that is!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog the other day. Let me know how many leeks you'll harvest this year!
This is so cute! And so true. Timeless, as the good things in life are.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I never would have thought they'd both come up with that same quote.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Now that I own my own business I can say I really can't afford myself! LOL!
ReplyDeletethe napkin lady rocks!! keep them coming!
ReplyDeleteMore great advice. I think hard work is something that generation really knew about.
ReplyDeleteTruer words were never said! I love it, as I love the way you put the post together! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very sage piece of advice, one that I think we all need to be reminded of at times.
ReplyDeleteI sooooo agree with your grandparents! Your bake sale inspires me too! GOOD LUCK!!!
ReplyDeletewell said lol
ReplyDeleteI love the quotes! I wish I had gotten more stories and quotes from my grandparents before they passed away. I will have to ask my parents to see if they remember an interesting quotes from them!
ReplyDeletePerfectly said!!!
ReplyDeleteGood! I can comment :) It would not let me yesterday. This is great advice... especially for my generation. You and I talked about this once... we take things for granted and expect them to come easily/quickly.
ReplyDeleteNo more true words have been spoken. I think this new generation really needs to learn that quote. We teach it to our kids but I swear their friends think we are freaks to make our kids earn their 'extras'. This quite reminds me so much of my grandfather. Love it.
